Featuring Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter Scot Sax on vocals and acoustic guitar, Good Side is the latest release by Philadelphia based producer and composer Maxfield Gast on the Militia Hill label. A combination of electronics and live woodwind/brasswinds, Good Side is a creation that exudes originality and edge. This collaboration between Sax and Gast presents a “David Bowie meets Nine Inch Nails” alt-pop industrial rock single that is driven by sequenced drums and samples while embracing a lyrical soundscape about lust, desire and the multi facets of one's persona.

Good Side was written by Maxfield Gast and Scot Sax, produced and executive produced by Gast, mixed by Adam Tilzer, mastered by Matt Kilmer with cover artwork designed by Jane Eger.

Scot Sax has been writing pop songs since he was 13- Whether it was with his own bands Wanderlust and Feel, or as a purveyor of hits for singers like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. It was Sax, in fact, who co-wrote the country duo’s Grammy-winning smash “Like We Never Loved At All.”  His catchy “I Am the Summertime,” penned while with the band Bachelor Number One, was featured in the blockbuster “American Pie.” And he’s netted countless TV credits, with song placements in shows like “Ghost Whisperer,” “NCIS,” “CSI: NY” and “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”

After catapulting into the spotlight with Wanderlust and its chart-topping single “I Walked” from the band’s 1995 RCA Records debut, “Prize,” the band toured with Collective Soul and opened for The Who. Sax continued his success writing for artists like Jason Mraz, Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block and Jennifer Love-Hewitt through a publishing deal in Los Angeles. He continued to record his own material and would hit the charts again with his band Feel and the singles “Got Your Name On It” and “Won’t Stand In Your Way.” Later, his collaboration with CBS Records’ artist Sharon Little would result in a career highlight: being hand-picked to open for Robert Plant and Allison Krauss on the duo’s 2008 “Raising Sand” tour.

Since then, Sax has been a nonstop creative force with albums as well as film work, including his documentary Platinum Rush, a film by a songwriter which has been screened in Nashville, Philadelphia and New York. Currently he is working with Lucinda Williams via his visual concepts which he is adding to her music in live performance. He is also working on his second film entitled Playback Is A Bitch.
