Bethlehem Roberson and Maxfield Gast release soulful new single Remember featuring Grammy Award-winning bassist Bakithi Kumalo.

Following the success of their debut collaboration The Other Side, vocalist Bethlehem Roberson and producer Maxfield Gast reunite to deliver their powerful new single Remember: a deeply soulful, thought-provoking reflection of heritage, memory, and cultural pride, premiering August 12th. The song features Bakithi Kumalo, the legendary multi-Grammy Award-winning bassist known for his work on Paul Simon’s Graceland, Grammy-nominated pianist Jeremy Grenhart (The Roots) and guitarist Tom Spiker (Bilal, Meghan Trainor).

Remember is a tribute to a time when integrity, honor  and respect were the cornerstones of our culture. ”As a society, we are quick to say ‘out with the old and in with the new’” says Roberson. “Let us honor our past as we move forward. We must remember our humility and humanity and take that along with us as we move forward.” With evocative lyrics that recall her own experience, Roberson paints a vivid portrait of connection with family and community, taking the listener down memory lane.

Maxfield Gast - producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist- brings his signature analog-infused production to this project. His previous credits include work on the multi-Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning series Louie (FX), licensing deals with MTV and Sony Classic Films, and features in Rollingstone, Downbeat Magazine and Jazz Weekly. With well over 1 million streams across 172 countries, Gast’s musical reach is both critically and commercially acclaimed.

Known for her solo performances as The Vocusionist, Bethlehem Roberson has redefined vocal artistry by combining a cappella singing with live-created rhythms through claps, pats and stomps on her Tarima. (wooden platform) Her dynamic, percussive style captivates audiences while breathing raw authenticity into every performance.

Gast and Roberson will host live-streamed sessions leading up to release day to offer behind-the-scenes insights into the song's creation. In addition, the duo will appear on WRTI’s The Bridge with host J Michael Harrison to further discuss the single’s themes and recording process.
